Jeopardy [Jan. 28th, 2009|08:12 pm]
[mood | disappointed]
[music |Godspeed You! Black Emperor]

So, I just finished taking the Jeopardy online test to try to get on the show. I now know that I know nothing about current events, or poetry. Kind of upset that I didn't answer all of the questions. Lindsay Lohan was one of the answers... and I couldn't remember her name for the life of me when the question came up. NM governor Bill Richardson was one of the answers too, that I just now googled the answer too. I also just found out that Alabama's state nickname is "The Yellowhammer State." I have a pretty wide knowledge of useless information, but I'm nowhere near ready for the national circuit, I guess.

I heard this song on Q101 a few days ago. [Oct. 16th, 2008|04:20 pm]
Some guy wrote down these lyrics. Some guys decided that they wanted to put music around these lyrics. Some producer decided to give this song a shot and record it. Somebody heard this song in the record industry and said "I want this on the radio." Program directors at major radio stations decided to put this into rotation. DJ's agreed to play it multiple times. I'm just going to end this post with the lyrics from that song. This is "Chemicals" by Scars On Broadway.
P.S. This guy is a Millionaire for writing stuff like this.

I smacked your face,
You fell in love
When I said "FUCK YOUR MOM!"
I looked at you, said "It's all over!"

I turned around and walked away
And you just grabbed my arm
I looked at you, said "I can't stay sober"

*Prechorus/Refrain*
Come eat some chemicals with me,
Come eat some chemicals
Come eat some chemicals with me,
Come eat some chemicals.

*Chorus*
MADNESS! Feeling scared,
Looking around and nobody there.
When I say "Fuck the world!"
Let's ready to rock,
As I piss on your face, while you suck on my cock.

*Repeat Chorus*

Oh maybe, baby,
Won't you rape me, won't you fantasize,
About the time when we were lovers!
I tried to phone you,
Tried to warn you, but no compromise
I grabbed your ass under the cover.

*Prechorus/Refrain*

*Repeat Chorus X2*

*Prechorus/Refrain X2*

*Repeat Chorus X2*

*Prechorus/Refrain X2*

My Top Ten Albums of 2007 [Dec. 19th, 2007|12:26 am]
I'm pretty sure that I have heard all of the new music that I'm going to hear this year, and I've read a lot of top ten lists already. So, here is my version of the Top Ten of 2007...

01- The Hives - The Black And White Album
02- Against Me! - New Wave
03- Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
04- Blonde Redhead - 23
05- Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
06- Radiohead - In Rainbows
07- Witch's Hat - Remastery of the Steel
08- Dear And The Headlights - Small Steps, Heavy Hooves
09- The White Stripes - Icky Thump
10- Silverchair - Young Modern

I know that I was talking shit about Silverchair before I went to see them at Lollapalooza, but they kind of bought me back with their performance there. I hate to say that they are a guilty pleasure now. And, Yes. The Hives are number one on my list. The only reason you are disagreeing with it is because you haven't listened to it yet. It is easily their best work. They keep getting better. Also, while I was making this list, I realized that I don't have any other of my top tens on here. So, I'm going to put up the top ten albums of 2006 and 2005 too. This way, I won't lose them.

2006:
01- RX Bandits - ...And The Battle Begun
02- So Many Dynamos - Flashlights
03- In Reverent Fear - Stomacher
04- The Cardinal Sin - Hurry Up and Wait
05- The Streets - The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living
06- Eagles Of Death Metal - Death By Sexy
07- TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain
08- MuteMath - MuteMath
09- Be Your Own Pet - Be Your Own Pet
10- Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped

2005:
01- Harvey Danger - Little By Little...
02- The Architects - Revenge
03- Bear Vs. Shark - Terrorhawk
04- Thrice - Vhiessu
05- Minus The Bear - Menos El Oso
06- Kanye West - Late Registration
07- Beck - Guero
08- Gorillaz - Demon Days
09- 30 Seconds To Mars - A Beautiful Lie (I know... I know)
10- Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth

Okay, there is my list. Now I don't need to use livejournal for another five months.

It's Friday Nite [Apr. 13th, 2007|07:17 pm]
[mood | bored]
[music |Shit on my iPod that I won't ever listen to again]

I've been adding music to my iPod that I will probably never listen to. I seriously don't know why I am putting so much crap on here. It's just going to sit there eating up my gigs. But, who knows? I may have the urge to listen to that Ben Folds Five song off of the 'Godzilla' soundtrack someday. Or even the new Silverchair CD that I downloaded a few weeks ago. Wait, no I won't. In any case, this is how I have been wasting time while waiting for Shannon to get out of work.

Speaking of Silverchair, they are playing Lollapalooza? They can still tour? They get to play Lollapalooza what, eight years after their last recognizable song (Anthem For the Year 2000) was on the radio? They are not a cult-status band. They are just old.

Hopefully I will have money saved up for Lollapalooza this year. The lineup looks pretty good. I mean, SILVERCHAIR is playing. But so are a handful of other bands.

Memories..... [Dec. 31st, 2006|04:22 am]
[music |"Halloween" is on AMC]

End of 2006.

I was looking through some old lj entries, and found the one where everybody came to my page to bash Jen. It's terrible, but funny.... in a terrible way. It's the only thing in my "memories" file in my userinfo on here.

This is pretty much just posted for Harrison, Mac, and Nina to see.

Happy '07 to everybody, since I don't see any of you anymore.

I have the hiccupps and I cannot get to sleep.

I decided that the best place to post this information would be livejournal.

On my personal page of "recent updates" the last one is talking about how good "with teeth" by NIN is.

I guess that I don't update this too often anymore.

And I'll be damned if I make a real update right now.

Killing time [Apr. 14th, 2006|10:46 am]
Instead of being in class right now at COD, I'm in the computer lab killing time until my next class. I think I have to drop my first class of the day. Way too far behind in my work. I have too much band shit going on right now in order to get any sort of good grade in all of my classes. We are going up to Wisconsin for a mini-tour in about a month. Two months from now we are going OVERSEAS to Lithuania to play some shows for ten days. That's going to be pretty fucking awesome. Also, not working at Macaroni Grill anymore. I'm at Jimmy's Grill in downtown Naperville now. So much money. So easy to make it. In any case, I have to get to one of my classes that I'm not failing now.

Hey there, 2006. [Jan. 6th, 2006|03:23 pm]
[mood | wet from the shower]
[music |nothing anymore]

Nothing of great importance to write about (as always). Back over at Macaroni Grill. Actually making some money. Band played at Double Door two days ago. We played pretty good. We got it recorded by some company that makes DVD's. They are making us a DVD. Guy that owns the company is putting us on some DVD that a bunch of other bands are going to be on too. We're playing the Subterranean on February 1st. YOU should go.

I had this dream last nite where I cut all of my hair off to the scalp that was closer to my face than my ears. I've been trying to figure out what the hell that means all day. Also, I quit Chevy's. Sorry Harrison and Joe.

I'm going sledding on a hill that has been called "Hill of Death" in about 5 minutes.

I'm too old for this. But, I don't care.

[mood | stressed]
[music |damn those bloodsuckers and their good qualities - daughters]

I'm about as much in debt as I ever have been due to this E.P. It ended up costing more than we thought it was going to, and the loan that Dave (singer) was supposed to get fell through. So, now we have Gravity hounding us for cash about three times a week. My credit card is maxed out, so I have to get a new one. After that, I'll be out of the hole as far as the recording goes. But then I get to deal with Credit Cards. So, I'm stressing right now. Growing up and getting bills is starting to suck.

On a completley different note: I quit Macaroni Grill and started working at Chevy's. Also, I'm a student again. Albeit, it's COD. Better then nothing at all, I guess.

[mood | I just woke up]
[music |Beastie Boys - Get It Together]

I probably should use this thing more often, since I have it. But, I never have anything all that important to put in here. The band is going into Gravity Studios in Chicago starting this weekend until the 19th (i think). I need to get $1500 to them before we get back any music. They have about a tenth of that, right now. On the 20th, we go up to Milwaukee to play with Thrice at the Rave.

Other then that, I'm basically just working and playing Resident Evil 2 on Playstation.

[mood | thirsty]
[music |Jurassic 5 - Jurass Finish First]

Going from cable modem to less than 56K is definatley not cool. It is probably one of my biggest problems with living at home.

Oh yeah, that and the fact that I feel like an ass any time I come home after midnite. At least I am saving up money now.

Vegas in a month.

Zombies [Jun. 28th, 2005|04:16 am]
I went to go see Land of the Dead tonite.

Karin said it was awful. Harrison said it was incredible. I said it was okay. I wish it was better, but Karin made it sound like it was absolutley terrible.

In other news: my computer has a ghost in the E Drive. It keeps opening and closing. So, now instead of keeping my away message on, I have to turn the computer off. So, if you need to contact me, don't try to leave me a message. Just call me and hope for the best.

Show report. [Jun. 22nd, 2005|02:44 am]
[mood | blah]
[music |bear vs. shark - song about old roller coaster]

On stage, everything seemed to go wrong. The monitors weren't working, Nick kept missing changes, Dave was out of tune, I couldn't hear Chris, and I broke a string on the second to last song.

Crowd said it was good, though. Everything sounded good out there.

So, I guess you could say it was a good first show.

So, I was just talking with Tom yesterday about how I haven't gotten a ticket since I moved out of my parents house. Of course, today I get a ticket crossing the double yellow lines to get into a turn lane.

So, It's probably just me, but I do believe that bear vs. shark's new album "terrorhawk" is the best album of 2005 so far.

It's the only CD that has been listened to in my car since I bought it on tuesday. It's really, really good.
